Job Summary:

The Department of Rehabilitation Psychology and Special Education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is seeking outstanding candidates for a tenured or tenure-track faculty position. Desirable candidates should be able to assume leadership roles and/or accept key responsibilities as the department seeks to (a) provide high quality teacher preparation, (b) provide exemplary graduate student training, and (c) secure extramural funding to support distinguished research. Appointment start date will be August 21, 2023. Appointment will be full time for the nine-month academic year. Salary is competitive and contingent on experience and qualifications. Additional remuneration for summer session teaching is possible.

Responsibilities:

Specific position responsibilities include:
1) Teach undergraduate and graduate courses within the department.
2) Advise undergraduate, masters, and doctoral students.
3) Participate in faculty governance and other service to the university, department and profession.
4) Maintain active research activities and pursue extramural funding to support research

Education:

Required
PhD
Ph.D. required in Special Education or closely related field.

Qualifications:

1) Evidence of established scholarship of national significance for candidates at the Associate or Full rank.
2) Experience with program leadership and/or management for candidates at the Associate or Full rank
3) Evidence of successful teaching experience at the university level.
4) Evidence of success securing extramural funding (preferred).
5) At least three years of professional experience working with students with disabilities from marginalized and/or minoritized cultural, linguistic, and economic communities (preferred).
6) Experience mentoring doctoral students and early career scholars (preferred).

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.
