The University of Exeter is one of the world’s best. It is a member of the Russell Group of research-intensive universities, having ranked in the top 150 universities in the world and the top 15 UK universities in prestigious global and national league tables.

The University has a proud history and has grown from its roots in the South-West of England to be a truly inclusive and diverse global university with a community of around 30,000 students from over 150 countries and 6,400 staff across four campuses in Devon and Cornwall, as well as alumni, academics and global university partners that bring the world to Exeter and take Exeter to the world.

Launched in October 2021, our new Strategy 2030 aims to use our outstanding education, research and global connections to create a sustainable, healthy and socially just future. In order to help achieve this vision as a globally networked university with high-quality education and research and innovation, the University is now seeking to appoint a new Director of Student Recruitment.

As a Professional Services Director, the Director will provide strategic leadership across a number of crucial business functions including domestic and international student recruitment, and delivering brand and reputation through our in country offices. They will lead the strategic cohort rebalancing programme, helping to diversify the student body and support widening access, and work with senior academic leaders across the University on short- and longer-term planning.

The postholder will be responsible for developing and delivering the University’s strategy for engagement, insight and profile raising in overseas markets to support diverse high quality student recruitment and transnational education collaborations to maximise the University’s impact and reputation internationally.

We are seeking a Director with strong strategic and leadership experience. They will combine this with an ability to work collaboratively across their team, the wider University and overseas, leveraging their existing understanding of the sector and the global landscape.
