Job Description:

Campus Recreation is responsible for running the everyday operations of the Joanne Chouinard-Luth Recreation and Wellness Center (the Jo), which relies very heavily on part-time staff to run the facility and all the programs it offers. Job Responsibilities :

Building Supervisors are tasked with maintaining building safety and security and managing the Jo, its staff, programming and maintenance when the Professional Staff is not working. Building Supervisors will open and close the facility every day of the week and operate the facility all day Saturday and Sunday as well as for special events. Building Supervisors will serve as a customer service and information source for users of the Jo. The position is designated to be mobile constantly evaluating all the spaces in the Jo. Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Manage 2 student staff at all times
  • Responsible for maintaining building safety and security
  • Respond to, and follow, all emergency procedures and prepare incident and injury reports when appropriate
  • Monitor the Jo ensuring that the all spaced are functioning properly
  • Assist with equipment cleaning
  • Unlock rooms and assist with activity set up according to facility schedules (fitness classes and sports equipment)
  • Escort internal and external visitors to appropriate spaces
  • Perform rounds of entire building
  • Maintain positive and enthusiastic relationships with students, faculty, staff and visitors
  • Be knowledgeable of the Jo policies, procedures, and activity offerings
  • Serve as a building and departmental resource for all clients
  • Submit facility evaluations on maintenance and repair issues to full-time Campus Recreation staff
  • Operate the laundry machines
  • Attend all mandatory staff meetings and workshops
  • Other duties as assigned
Shifts requested:
  • Thursday - Friday 2:30 pm - 10:30 pm (flexible)
  • Saturday - Sunday 8:30 am - 5:30 am (flexible)
Expected Hours Per Week:

25 hours expected


Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications
  • Member of Campus Recreation staff for at least one semester, or equivalent experience at another job
  • Knowledge of the Jo policies and event calendar
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and decision making skills
  • Be able to work independently and in a team environment
  • CPR and First Aid Certification within 30 days of employment

This is a part-time, non-exempt level position
