About the Opportunity

 

Brown University’s School of Professional Studies (SPS) brings a Brown education to new audiences of learners: those focused on development of skills and a breadth of knowledge necessary for professional success and leadership. We leverage Brown’s intellectual centers of excellence, rigorous teaching, and developmental approach to learning in a range of programs, including serving students outside of traditional degree programs. We partner with Brown departments, centers, institutes, and schools to develop degree and non-degree programs, and to support the recruitment, retention, and placement success of master’s students, including traditional, non-traditional, and professional students.

 

Responsibilities

 

We seek a Program Advisor to join the Enrollment Management team at the School of Professional Studies!

 

This position is responsible for inquiry and enrollment management communications, outreach and advising for SPS Executive and Professional programs. 

 

The position ensures timely follow-up and personal attention to all inbound program inquiries, providing detailed program information and professional-level advising to those considering SPS Executive and Professional programs. The position builds relationships with potential candidates.  

 

The Program Advisor is responsible for implementing outreach and advising communications plans that are developed in coordination with the Enrollment Management team to increase enrollment levels for executive and professional programs. The Program Advisor will contact prospective students through communication methods including email, telephone phone, and automated communications tools, among others. The Program Advisor will represent programs and Brown University at recruiting events.

 

Specific activities include: tracking, updating and reporting prospect information in various information (CRM) systems and databases, advising applicants on program “fit” and financial aid prospects, ranking leads, setting  applicant appointments, managing application materials, ensuring smooth inquiry and application workflow and personalized attention for all inquiries, prospects, applicants, and accepted students. 

 

The Program Advisor will build a deep familiarity with the portfolio of professional and executive programs for which they will be advising and recruiting in order to be successful in the role.

 

Qualifications

 

Education/Experience 

 

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

 

Excellent written and oral communication proficiency, including the use of email and telephone  

 

Sales or customer service experience preferably in an academic environment

 

Computer proficiency and experience working with enterprise data and CRM systems required 

 

Job Competencies 

 

Ability to problem solve effectively in complex and sometimes stressful situations 

 

Experience working with academic programs or in a higher education environment preferred 

 

High degree of patience and capacity to respond pleasantly and professionally, no matter the circumstances 

 

Commitment to collaboration with diverse team

 

 

 

Vaccination Requirements:
