Department of Physical Therapy

Full-time, 32 hour per week (.80 FTE) Assistant Professor 


Nominations and applications are invited for a full-time, 32 hour per week regular, twelve-month, nontenure track earning faculty position within the Department of Physical Therapy, School of Health Professions at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. 

 

 

 

Qualifications:  Academic doctorate degree in relevant field required

 

 

 

The primary responsibilities of the position will include teaching, scholarship, and service to the University. Your duties will align with academic programs conducted within the Department. 

 

 

 

Outstanding candidates with expertise in physical therapy will be considered, with special consideration given to those candidates with a strong record of teaching and clinical practice. 

 

 

 

The School of Health Professions is one of the nation’s largest and most diverse schools of its type with over twenty programs at the baccalaureate, master’s, and doctoral levels. The school’s faculty have more NIH funding than any other school of health professions in the country. Total research funding is over $22M, which has placed it in the top two schools of health professions for five decades. SHP is one of six medical-focused schools in a thriving academic health center. UAB is among the highest tier of US research institutions and SHP is currently ranked in the top three for NIH funding for similar schools.
