M3 Executive Search is proud to assist the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) with their national search for a progressive academic physician executive who can also serve as the Dean and Chief Academic Officer for their College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, PA.  This is in an opportunity for an innovative leader to play a pivotal role in leading the College’s continued growth in developing new programs to educate students for challenging and meaningful medical careers. 

The Dean and CAO will provide leadership that ensures excellence in curriculum design, scholarly activity, instructional delivery, assessment, and outcomes through four years of undergraduate medical education and the college’s sponsored graduate medical education residency programs. Additionally, the Dean and CAO is responsible for supporting an environment of diversity, equity and inclusion and student success.

The Dean and CAO of the College reports directly to the Provost/Executive Vice President and is responsible for establishing a vision for the college/school, for creating a strategic plan and for evaluating the college/school’s overall effectiveness in achieving stated goals and objectives.  Among the responsibilities of the Dean and COA will be to elevate the College’s distinguished clinical and educational enterprise; recruit, hire, develop and retain and an exceptionally diverse, intellectually stimulating, and inclusive faculty and staff; cultivate and strengthen relationships with key decision makers throughout the state; serve as a prominent voice and advocate for the school; and maintains its financial stability. 

PCOM is currently a multi-campus, multi programmatic health and science university. It is comprised of the Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine located on three campuses, the School of Health Sciences, the School of Pharmacy and the School of Applied and Professional Psychology. The College of Osteopathic Medicine has a storied history as a premier osteopathic medical school spanning more than a century. PCOM is a private non-profit institution with its main campus in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with other campuses located in Suwanee and Moultrie, Georgia.
