Position Summary:

This position is a combination of working in Mailing Services and Central Receiving. The primary area of responsibility is Mailing Services however this position will be trained to assume responsibilities of the day to day operation of Central Receiving on an as needed basis which could be up to 10% but no more than 20%. Mailing Services and Central Receiving ensures distribution of all mail, packages and special deliveries to the entire campus including on campus residence halls and off campus buildings and some apartment style student buildings.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school graduate or equivalent. Individual must have a valid drivers license and be insurable by the University, which includes maintaining a low-risk driving record.
Must have experience driving a van.
Must be able to drive a box truck on an as needed basis.
Must have the ability to be certified as a forklift driver.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds on a (4) hour continuous basis and sustain high level of physical activity if filling in for the Central Receiving daily operations.
Computer skills necessary to operate automated equipment such as SQBX tracking system, Neopost metering equipment, excel, word, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

Demonstrated and successful experience working with people from diverse backgrounds. Knowledge of and sensitivity to a Catholic Marianist work environment.
Previous mail room experience with the ability to work with all age groups including faculty, staff and students.
Experience working in a customer service environment with previous telephone skills resulting in proper telephone etiquette.
Ability to type and send emails regarding packages and letter mail.
Prior tracking system experience.
Familiar with USPS rules and regulations.
Able to work with very little supervision once training has been completed.
Good time management skills are essential.

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide.
