The Department of Mathematics in the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics invites applications from candidates working in applied mathematics with focus on high-dimensional applications and inverse problems for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position to begin in August 2023.

We are particularly interested in someone with expertise in high-dimensional applications and inverse problems who would complement and enhance the excellent group in applied mathematics at the Department of Mathematics and also foster close collaborations with the HP Data Science Institute, the UH Cullen College of Engineering, the UH Medical School, and the Texas Medical Center.

Candidates with high-level of competence in the application of computational PDEs and Scientific Computing to Life Science and Medicine are particularly encouraged to apply. The Department of Mathematics is seeking outstanding candidates with the potential for exceptional research, excellence in teaching, and clear commitment to enhancing the diversity of the faculty, graduate and undergraduate student population.

Qualifications :

A minimum requirement for this position is a PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
