The Department of Mathematics in the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at University of Houston invites applications from strong candidates domains for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position, working in the areas of large-scale computational statistics with applications in key research domains. The position is to expected to begin in August 2023.

We are particularly interested in someone with strong computing experience in developing and applying statistical models for massive data sets requiring the intensive use of multicores computing centers available at University of Houston. Desired hire will also have strong basis in statistical methodology and theory to develop novel statistical methods to deal with complex data.

Candidates with high-level of competence in the application of statistics to atmospheric and climatic data analysis, computational statistics for genomics, and computational statistics for communication networks are particularly encouraged to apply.

Qualifications :

A minimum requirement for this position is a PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
