Job Description

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The Coordinator III, Business Operations at LSC-CyFair provides oversight and facilitation of day-to-day and some long-term operations within LSC-CyFair Student Accounts & Collections, playing a strong role in leading and planning, development, evaluation, execution and improvement. Responsible for collaborating with others, ensuring smooth and efficient operations as well as compliance with policies, procedures and a variety of local, state and federal regulations. Performs research and analysis related to Student Accounts & Collections. Responsible for a variety of data management tools. Coordinates relevant activities of staff, in addition to execution of tasks. Makes and communicates process recommendations based on best practices.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Oversees daily and some long-term operations of LSC-CyFair Student Accounts & Collections. Actively maintains up-to-date knowledge of area and acts as a Subject Matter Expert within area and as a point of contact and liaison for internal and external constituents
  2. Performs research relevant to area of specialty. Develops, monitors and maintains a variety of spreadsheets, databases, reports, and presents findings to internal/external constituents (may include LSCS Managers/Executives, Staff, Students, and/or outside groups and organizations)
  3. Enters, tracks and maintains a variety of data, including documents, spreadsheets and databases
  4. Communicates sensitive Student Account information with Students in a professional and effective manner, including written and verbal communication. Supervises Staff in doing the same
  5. May be responsible for ensuring and maintaining compliance with local/state/federal compliance of processes and documentation within assigned area
  6. Supervises, trains and develops department staff. Schedules and prioritizes work and activities and develops and organizes training materials
  7. Creates methods of evaluation of assigned area. Analyzes results and makes recommendations for revisions to objectives and strategies, with a focus on continuous program improvement. Takes part in developing new programs
  8. Assists with management of the department budget
  9. Takes part in and/or leads special projects as needed
  10. Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Strong attention to accuracy and detail
  • Advanced skills with common office software like Microsoft Excel, Word, etc., report generators and other similar software applications
  • Ability to prepare and analyze reports
  • Possesses excellent organizational skills
  • Strong multi-tasking abilities with the ability to prioritize duties
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated, and to collaborate and work in teams
  • High level of customer service with ability to successfully address challenging situations
PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

WORK SCHEDULE & CONDITIONS :
  • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and at least 1 year of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an accounting or finance emphasis
  • Experience with PeopleSoft and the Campus Solutions module
  • Experience with Student Collections
Salary

Hiring salary range is $46,300 to $53,245.

Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all posted full-time non-faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fall in that range is determined by your related experience and education. Should you receive an offer of employment from Lone Star College, the resume submitted in the application process will be utilized to calculate your salary offer.
