Job Description

Key Responsibilities
  • Work cooperatively in carrying out the mission of the department.
  • Arrange and conduct seminars, workshops and programs designed to enhance academic success.
  • Assist with developing, implementing and executing collaborations with various units on campus.
  • Assist students by providing appropriate tutoring and learning resources to meet campus wide needs.
  • Monitor and provide guidance for academic and non-academic concerns.
  • Assist with conducting assessments (i.e. surveys, focus groups, collection of agency records) and determine program strengths as well as opportunities for tutoring improvement.
  • Facilitate tutor trainings.
  • Must work successfully with multiple parties to achieve UTC initiatives.
  • Support and attend functions as deemed necessary in support of department/divisional/campus efforts and professional development.
  • Assist in the implementation and coordination of campus wide tutoring programs, workshops, and seminars.
  • Maintain tracking of student and/or group tutoring sessions.
  • May serve as general advisor to special student groups such as athletes, veterans, on-campus residents, minorities, women or international students.
  • Assist with development of office publications explaining the services and programs of the office; assist with the dissemination of information.

Shift

Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. -5:00 p.m. Some evening and weekend hours required.

Salary

Pay commensurate with education and experience.
Anticipated Hiring Range: $40,498 - $44,499 Annually
Grade: GGS-009
University Title: Senior Academic Advisor

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications
  • Possesses conceptual knowledge of theories, practices and procedures within the Student Support function
  • Applies general knowledge of the student support processes developed through education and experienceshere to enter preferred qualifications
