SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

Responsible for ensuring the timely and costly completion of small-scale maintenance and larger-scale construction projects by overseeing all phases of the project. Works with a variety of stakeholders to schedule and plan work, coordinate equipment and materials, operate within budget, and monitor overall progress.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Works with all appropriate stakeholders to determine and define scope of work and deliverables.
  • Accurately predict resources needed to complete project
  • Obtain necessary permits, approvals, and other regulatory prerequisites when necessary.
  • Draft and submit budget based on scope of work and resource requirements
  • Manage costs in order to meet budget, through value engineering, material selection, and design adaptations.
  • Manages construction and maintenance contracts, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Manages construction schedule and activities.
  • Provides progress updates as needed regarding costs and timelines
  • Ensures work is done in compliance with all relevant building and safety codes
  • Select and manage subcontractor and supplier relationships
  • Coordinate efforts across entire project between architects, designers, engineers, subcontractors, internal stakeholders, and Facilities staff.
  • Creates, fosters, and maintains positive stakeholder relations through competent and cooperative communication.
  • Supports the Facilities Department with other campus initiatives when required.
  • Manages and oversees any appropriate service contracts.
  • Drives College vehicles/ carts
ADDITONAL RESPONSIBILITES:
  • Performs other college-related duties as may be required
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 5-7 years of experience in project management within construction
  • Ability to read and understand construction documents and blueprints
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer skills
  • Valid State motor vehicle operators license.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Building Construction, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Architecture
  • Ability to create and interpret AutoCAD drawings
CHARACTERISTICS PREFERRED:
  • Self-motivated and self-sustaining, does not need a lot of oversight and finishes work ahead of deadlines
  • Creativity and innovation to ensure quality of the campus is always improving
  • Hard worker that is willing to put in extra hours and respond to emails or messages in off hours when necessary


WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Moderately heavy work: exerting in excess of 50 pounds of force occasionally to move objects.
  • Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, and repetitive motions.
