The Division of Hospital Medicine at the University of Washington and Seattle Children's Hospital is seeking a full-time hospitalist to join our faculty as Assistant Professor without tenure by reason of funding (WOT), on the Clinician-Scholar track. Assistant Professors WOT are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. Anticipated start date is Winter 2023.
The successful candidate will have duties at Seattle Children's Hospital/University of Washington School of Medicine. Our career hospitalists have diverse backgrounds and interests, and participate in a variety of clinical research, quality improvement, patient safety, educational, and faculty development initiatives.
Clinician Scholars are expected to participate in scholarly activities including research and publication as an integral part of their job description. Our hospitalists attend on the General Medicine resident service for 7-day rotations. The hospitalist will provide direct care to pediatric patients. We provide direct supervision and bedside/didactic teaching of rotating residents and medical students. We also provide 24/7 in-house coverage for the General Medicine non-resident service which also includes daytime supervision and teaching of rotating medical students and advanced practice providers.
