The Department of Social Work at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for fall 2022 to teach MSW 525 Law and Ethics in Social Work. The course is a 3-unit class, has one 3-hour class each week of the 15-week semester , and is taught in a hybrid format; odd weeks of the semester will be taught in-person, even weeks of the semester will be taught online.

Minimum qualifications:
  • A Master of Social Work and at least five years of post-MSW related experience.
  • Per the California State University’s Out-of-State Employment Policy, the CSU is prohibited from hiring employees to perform CSU-related work outside California. Working in the State of California is a condition of employment.
Preferred qualifications:
  • A doctoral degree in Social Work or in a closely related field.
  • LCSW licensure
  • Two years of legal training and/or direct practice in a position tasked with risk management and/or addressing ethical concerns.
  • Experience in teaching classes and instructional methodology.
  • Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusivity, and/or intercultural competence with diverse groups in relation to teaching.
Salary commensurate with degree level and experience
