As a member of this collaborative professional nursing faculty, applicants will use effective multiple instruction and assessment modalities to promote students’ successful achievement and academic success.
The didactic course instructor is responsible to prepare for and teach the didactic course according to the School of Nursing curriculum map. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Teaching
- Prepare the course syllabus in accordance with university policy, using the master course syllabus.
- Provide didactic instruction, according to the syllabus, in a clear and engaging manner that is appropriate to student academic level, to assist them in achieving competence according to the student learning outcomes.
- Utilize multiple instruction modalities to deliver course content to meet a variety of student learning styles.
- Utilize multiple learning assessment modalities to meet a variety of student learning styles.
- Utilize computer and application-based technologies as required to complete instruction and assessment of student learning. This includes the Learning Management System and all academic support programs adopted by the School of Nursing.
- Provide written student feedback in a timely manner to facilitate students’ learning progression through the semester.
- Assign grades and maintain course/student records in accordance with the university and school requirements and deadlines.
- Assist students to master course material by being available through weekly posted office hours and by helping them to access university academic support services.
- Notify the program Associate Director if a student is not progressing as needed and utilize SoN resources to promote student success.

Minimum qualifications:
- MSN
- Must have demonstrated nursing work experience in community health/case management nursing.
- Direct patient care or teaching experience that demonstrates clinical competency.
- Must have State licensure by California Board of Registered Nursing.
- Must meet the School of Nursing ’ s requirements regarding current immunizations and CPR.
- Per the California State University’s Out-of-State Employment Policy, the CSU is prohibited from hiring employees to perform CSU-related work outside California. Working in the State of California is a condition of employment.
- Direct patient care or teaching experience that demonstrates clinical competency within the last 5 years.
- Experience in teaching higher education courses.
- Experience teaching in face to face and online instruction modalities
- Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusivity, and/or intercultural competence with diverse groups in relation to teaching.
- Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $4,530 - $4,975 per full-time month
- CSU Classification Salary Range: $4,530 - $6,056 per full-time month
