This is a part-time position, 27 hours/week.

Job duties include program development and implementation for students and postdoctoral scholars; support WISE’s mission and total array of programs and services; mange the daily operations including staff supervision, support constituents; and further campus collaboration and visibility for WISE and the issues related to intersectionality and gender equity and inclusion. Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in relevant discipline required, some doctoral-level training preferred. Experience in planning and implementing programs or events for undergraduate and/or graduate students in areas of career and professional development desired.
  • Understanding of the higher education student experience of working toward degree attainment (Bachelor’s to Doctorate) in a career where they may have few role models and peers of the same gender, race or other identities.
  • Sensitive to issues of diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility ( DEIA ) and committed to expanding and sharing knowledge of DEIA and best practices for enacting change, especially regarding gender and intersectionality, strongly preferred.
  • Three years of experience working with undergraduate and/or graduate students from diverse backgrounds in a higher education setting.
Job Specific Qualifications
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Broad curiosity and interest in program development for students in higher education, with ability to work with students in STEMM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics and medicine) fields, from a variety of backgrounds and levels of preparation.
  • Ability to work collegially and collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Ability to be flexible and prioritize a fluctuating workload, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines, and to generate a range of problem-solving approaches.
  • Initiative and ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with various stakeholders to accomplish goals.
  • Attention to detail with excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to use or learn a variety of software and databases and application platforms.
Responsibilities
  • Program Development and Implementation: responsible, under the supervision of the director, for developing, implementing, and evaluating core programs/workshops/events for students and postdoctoral fellows in keeping with specific program goals and in consultation with faculty advisors and the program director preserving information and records for future planning.
  • Recruit, supervise and mentor diverse participants using a variety of tools and strategies.
  • Contribute to the development of other programs, workshops, activities for faculty and students such as Faculty Peer Mentoring, Faculty Leadership Development, WISE general events, and the Slepecky Undergraduate Research Prize, and may implement when necessary or appropriate.
  • WISE Mission and General Support: assist with overall WISE program planning and implementation, grant writing and implementation, communications, needs assessment, summative evaluative, demographic and participation data collection and interpretation reporting under direction of program director.
  • Will support the visibility of WISE through newsletters, and social media, and website content.
  • Daily Operations: perform a variety of duties that facilitate the day-to-day operations of WISE programs including directly supervising the work of hourly employees, work-study and graduate student assistants and volunteers. Includes time clock approval.
  • Support to Constituents: advise, mentor and connect WISE constituents to campus and other resources depending on the individual’s need and circumstances.
  • Ensure the safety and security of participants while in our programs.
  • Campus Collaboration and Visibility: collaborate with faculty, academic programs and departments, other program units and student organizations across campus to identify and promote collaborative opportunities and gender equity and inclusion using an intersectional approach.
  • Work with the Director to implement policies and standardize practices to support these collaborations and ensure WISE’s campus integration and visibility.
