This is a full-time benefits-eligible position. Applies paints, varnishes, stains, and/or lacquer to decorate and protect interior or exterior surfaces, trimmings, and fixtures of buildings and other surfaces using a variety of equipment including airless sprayer or spray gun. Repairs and prepares all types of existing surfaces prior to application of paints, finishes, water proofing, or epoxy coatings. Maintains and operates all types of air and electrical application devices appropriate to the trade. Education & Formal Training High school diploma or equivalent Other Education & Formal Training
Four years trade school or four years related military experience may substitute for experience. Computer Skills Experience
1. Four years painting experience as a seasoned trade person required. Other Experience Licenses, Certificates, Registrations, & State/Federal Requirements of Position: Driver's license, Missouri license required Other Licenses, Certificates, Registrations, & State/Federal Requirements Special Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge: Attention to detail, Communication skills, including oral, written, and/or nonverbal, Knowledge of a University environment preferred, Leadership skills: organization/meeting facilitation/project leadership, Physical abilities: mobility/strength/dexterity/balance/coordination/endurance, Maintain confidentiality Other Special Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge
Mental skills, including concentration, memory, complex decision making, analytical thinking, and/or conceptual thinking
Mix/match and apply all finishes available to the trade.
Ability to operate all tools, machines, and equipment of the trade. Specify sensory abilities: Physical & Environmental Factors: Excessive standing and/or walking, Exposure to extreme temperatures, Exposure to fumes and/or chemicals, Exposure to heights, Exposure to loud noises, Lifting (weight) - 50 lbs. Incumbent is subject to 24-hour call-in due to emergencies
