Job Summary:

As part of a creative communications team, the Creative Manager will help tell the stories of science and outreach related to Wisconsin's waters the Great Lakes, other surface waters and groundwater as part of the Aquatic Sciences Center (ASC). The center's two programs the Wisconsin Sea Grant College Program and the University of Wisconsin Water Resources Institute have strong, established brands. To inform, educate and inspire, helping to build stewardship for Wisconsin's waters, a creative manager will contribute to that strength by creating visual solutions for use on the web, in social media and for publications.

Responsibilities:

Manages, plans, and executes the production of creative content to support the strategic objectives of the unit or institution. Provides subject matter expertise and may supervise staff.
  • 10% Develops, implements, and maintains design standards, policies, and procedures to ensure appropriate use of financial, administrative, and staffing resources
  • 70% Creates, designs, and produces content through various mediums
  • 10% Monitors and evaluates creative development work for in-house and freelance creative professionals
  • 5% Works collaboratively with other creative professionals, engages in and responds to creative feedback, manages project workflow and timing, maintains files, and follows established work unit processes
  • 5% Provides expert advice and work with faculty researchers and project partners. Regularly advise, consult and work with colleagues at the campus, state, regional and national levels.

--Demonstrate proficiency in using Adobe products and Photoshop.
--Provide leadership in brand management.
--Concept and design visual solutions.
--Remain knowledgeable about and proficient in the latest technology and trends in the graphic design field.
--Demonstrate the ability to take the initiative, be resourceful and perform as part of a team.
--Demonstrate attention to detail and production of high-quality work under time constraints and while balancing multiple projects.
--Work productively and successfully with diverse people and groups.

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Potential exists for one to two days per week remote, depending on University policy.
