Position Summary

The Assistant Directorof Alumni Engagement for the College of Arts and Sciences will join the university alumni engagement team serving as the engagement officer for the College of Arts and Sciences ( CAS ). The Assistant Director will report to the Sr. Director of Alumni and Constituent Engagement.

This position will develop standard collaborations with central alumni engagement programs and events, CAS student engagement and communications teams and collaborate with CAS advancement officers, who are focused on ensuring sustainable philanthropic growth commensurate with the needs of each school by engaging alumni and developing long-term relationships. The Assistant Director will be expected to leverage events and other engagement activities to involve more CAS alumni and deepen relationships.

Highlighted Duties include:
  • Develop and execute strategies to meaningfully engage CAS alumni.
  • Support strategic and operating plans of the Office of Alumni Engagement, University Advancement and CAS, establishing coordinated goals and implementing programs to meet objectives in concert with university policies and priorities.
  • Execute local, regional, and virtual engagement programs to engage alumni and cultivate relationships while also leveraging programs as opportunities for advancement colleagues to discover new and steward current donors.
  • Facilitate the coding of all engagement activities documenting all contacts and participation within the in-house alumni database.
Salary:$50,000 – $60,000

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in one, or a combination, of the following areas (1) alumni relations, (2) event management, or (3) volunteer management.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to listen and interact with a diverse group of individuals and organizations.
  • Strong demonstrated verbal and written skills.
  • Familiar with electronic and social media.
  • The ability to work well both independently and collaboratively with other team members.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with focus on details and timeline.
  • A demonstrated ability to work in complex organizations.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends, and travel, as needed and requested.
