Applications are invited for a Full-Time Tenure/Non-Tenure Track Assistant Professor position in the Department of Statistics at Keimyung University. The position is open to non-Korean citizens. The position is for a fixed contractual term, but renewable at the discretion of the Department and University.

Keimyung University is located in Daegu, South Korea's third largest city. The University was founded in 1954, and has a beautiful and safe campus. Keimyung University proudly leads the globalization of the region, raising future international leaders and experts who can contribute to world peace and welfare.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will have a primary responsibility for teaching 9 hours per week (in English) as well as administrative duties, as assigned. Research and publication are encouraged. Tentatively assigned courses are:

  • Undergraduate courses: Big data analysis, Machine learning, Statistics in English, Topics in statistics
  • Graduate courses: Lectures will be open depending on the graduate student requirements,

but they are subject to change by request of the department and students.

Salary
The salary of the tenure track position is USD 53,000 (Negotiable - Commensurate with qualifications).
In the case of the non-tenure track position, the salary is KRW 47,640,000 (Non-negotiable).

Job Requirements
The position is open to non-Korean citizens.
Candidates should have a doctorate degree in Statistics and have at least 4-year experience in related research and education. We seek applications from candidates with a research record in any area of statistics: this includes (but is not limited to) theoretical statistics, statistical methodology, big data analysis, machine learning, and biostatistics. A successful candidate is expected to demonstrate excellence in teaching and an ability to collaborate with department and university faculty members.
