Works under the supervision of senior
laboratory personnel, the principal investigator, and the lab
manager.
Under initial supervision and training of
the faculty investigator and senior lab members, follows
established procedures or protocols and utilizes aseptic technique
to perform experiments which will include:
-
Human pluripotent stem cell culture and
differentiation and experiments for cardiac tissue
engineering.
The Work will Involve a Wide Range of Techniques including:
-
Human pluripotent stem cell culture and
differentiation.
Tissue fabrication and functional
analysis.
Immunostaining and
histology.
Microscopy.

Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Chemistry
or related field.
-
Some related post-undergraduate work
experience in molecular and cell biology.
Prior experience in tissue culture,
particularly stem cell culture and/or cardiac cell
culture.
Experience in wet lab bench work, which
should include experience with creating iPS cell
lines, human stem cell culture and differentiation, tissue
engineering, flow cytometry, and
histology.

This work requires precision and
attention to detail.
Individual should have strong
communication and interpersonal skills.
Must have the ability to read and
interpret direction, both oral and written, organize and prioritize
work and follow through on assignments.
Must be able to work successfully as part
of a team in a dynamic laboratory.
