Job Description

Montgomery College, Germantown Campus, is currently accepting applications for a part-time Social Resource Program (SRP) Coach, newly embedded within the Student Health and Wellness Center for Success (SHaW). We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated team member to support students with navigating and accessing community resources that foster well-being and academic achievement. The work hours will be a maximum of 20 hours per week. Some evening and weekend work as well as travel may be required. These are non-bargaining, non exempt, grade 25 positions. For non-exempt positions, you are not eligible to work a secondary job at Montgomery College. These positions are on-campus and in-person.

This is a temporary position with benefits funded through December 31, 2024. Employment continuation beyond this period is contingent upon need and funding.

This position is currently funded through December 31, 2024 by the US Department of Education (Grant # P116N210009).

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Serves as a point of contact for students, respond to student questions and inquiries about services to address their needs, help students assess appropriate resources
  • Provides intensive 1:1 case management: identify and troubleshoots barriers to connect students to college and community resources
  • Completes initial intake with students to assess needs and assists students in developing, implementing and revising individual service plans; assures that services provided are specified in the Individual Service Plan and monitors progress toward identified goals
  • Maintains appointments with students via in-person or virtual, provides timely and accurate information to students regarding community resources, and coordinates and tracks services accessed by students
  • Teaches students how to navigate social support systems
  • Uses database to maintain an active case file on each student. Maintains confidential, accurate and timely case notes and documentation.
  • Maintains statistical information and evaluates impact of services on student persistence
  • Develops relationships with community service providers for student connections: disability, legal, social, transportation, childcare, health, housing, food, financial, et cetera.
  • Facilitates student information sessions and presents to academic departments within the College to explain the program
  • Performs other duties as assigned that advance supports for students
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Education, Health, or a field related to designated scope of the grant.
  • Three years of experience providing case management in functions related to the designated grant.
  • Knowledge and skills in community based behavioral health care and evidence of ongoing training and education in related areas
  • Skill in effective oral and written communication and leadership, interpersonal relations, and conflict management in a multicultural environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff and management.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, and develop, collect and analyze data.
  • Ability to respond quickly and effectively to difficult and/or time-sensitive situations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Skill in the use of information technology systems and software applications.
  • Eligible applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States and not require employer visa sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Human Services, Education, Educational Leadership, and or related field(s)
  • Three years of experience counseling or providing case-management to students (clients) in a holistic manner
  • Three years of experience and knowledge in community based behavioral health care
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Experience serving under-served populations.
  • Experience working with community/social service agencies
  • Proficient with computer applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Experience working in a higher education environment
  • Experience working with grant programs
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English
Hiring Range $26.88 to $34.93 per hour. Initial salary placement is based on candidate experience and internal equity.
