Position Summary:
The Director for Project ECHO reports to the Associate Director of Medical Research in the WWAMI Medical Education Department and is responsible for providing direction and guidance for the overall success of WWAMI's ECHO Idaho Program; overseeing the operations of the ECHO Idaho program while supervising program staff; and directing with faculty and principal investigators to lead, develop, and implement funding strategies. Specific responsibilities include program strategy development; coordination of team approach to large projects involving staff, faculty and clinical experts and stakeholders; identification and promotion of funding opportunities; proposal preparation and submission; post-award follow-up; and project implementation and renewal. The Director maintains a broad liaison function among external stakeholders statewide; Deans, faculty and staff; the Office of Sponsored Programs; Foundations and Advancement Offices; and academic units across multiple campus locations, including Boise, Moscow and Coeur d'Alene.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in public health, health informatics, educational leadership, public policy, business administration, business management or related field
- Experience with grant or gift procurement and management;
- Prior management, supervisory and fiscal experience;
- Experience and knowledge of principles and practices of fiscal and budgetary management and applications;
- Experience in the use of database systems, ad hoc database queries and administrative reports;
- Experience using appropriate computer software (e.g., Microsoft applications, Zoom, etc.);
- Experience with educational programming;
- Demonstrated evidence of strategic planning and leadership supporting program development and growth;
Preferred Qualifications:
- Doctorate degree in public health, educational leadership, public policy, business administration, business management, medicine, or related fields;
- Experience implementing distance education programs;
- Experience using Banner (or similar) software applications;
- Experience and knowledge of general requirements and procedures in the areas of accounting, sponsored programs and gift processing in higher educational institutions;
- Experience with a Project ECHO program or online education programming;
- Familiarity with Project ECHO research, mixed-methods research and data analysis, and Institutional Review Board practices;
- Knowledge of, and experience with, rural healthcare landscapes;
- Knowledge of external continuing medical education programming or accreditation requirements;
- Experience with healthcare clinical or educational data collection, analysis, and report generation.
