This is a temporary assignment that will end at the discretion of the department or when funding or hours are exhausted.
Governors State University Alumni Department is seeking an Extra Help Alumni Relations Communication Coordinator who will collaborate with the Assistant Director of Alumni Relations to develop and expand the number of newly engaged alumni, maintain current alumni relations, and assist in future engagement planning through media support, digital engagement, and inter-office assistance. The Alumni Communication Coordinator will engage alumni with various communication tools, but not limited to, in-person, phone, email, Slate, social media, website, and networking opportunities. The Alumni Communication Coordinator will serve the Assistant Director of Alumni Relations in the Alumni Office and collaborate with institutional colleagues, including faculty and current students on behalf of the Alumni Office. Alumni Communication Coordinator will re-affirm the Alumni Association’s Brand and prominence through cultivation and stewardship of GSU alumni.
The hourly rate of pay is $19.00
Work Schedule: M – F, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Hours vary upon events and other special related activities.) Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 0-1 years experience in alumni engagement, constituent/stakeholder/customer management, relationship building, marketing, communications, and audience engagement/event planning.
- · Bachelor’s degree or related experience, business, communication, psychology, nonprofit management, or related fields.
- · 0-1 years working with students, alumni, and/or donors.
- · 0-1 years working on a university setting.
- · Ability to speak and write in Spanish.
