The Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), part of the State University of New York, is currently accepting applications for Adjunct Instructors in the School of Art and Design: Fashion Design Department.


JOB DESCRIPTION:

Individuals appointed will teach a "fitting techniques" course in the Intimate Apparel Specialization area. The position requires full knowledge in utilizing fitting techniques specific to the Intimate Apparel Industry. Expertise in fitting on a live model or form, pattern making, creating a fitting log to record specifications on all aspects of Foundation Garments, Bras, Panties, Bustiers, etc. is required. Knowledge of Intimate Apparel specialized machinery a plus. Instructors are required to assess student performance and submit grades within the academic timetable.


REQUIREMENTS:

Candidates are required to have an Associate Degree.  In addition, the applicant must possess a minimum of six years of working as a experience as a Designer in Foundation Design with hands on Fitting Technique experience.  Basic computer literacy is required.  Prior teaching at the college level is preferred.
