The English and Cultural Studies Department at Bryant University invites applications for an Assistant Professor and Coordinator of the Writing Workshop. This full-time, tenure-track position involves administration, teaching (2/2), and research. The appointment for this position begins August 1, 2023. A Ph.D in Rhetoric and Composition or similar area or a Ph.D. in English with research focus in
composition is required. Experience administrating a college writing program is preferred. The successful candidate will show evidence of innovative teaching and curriculum development. The Coordinator oversees the required first-year Writing Seminar course. Based in the Department of English and Cultural Studies, the Coordinator works closely with the Director of General Education in implementing
the first-year General Education curriculum. In addition, the
Coordinator teaches two sections of the first-year writing course
per semester and pursues an active research agenda in composition studies and/or pedagogy.
