Job Description:

The Osman lab is a Vascular Biology lab, which focuses on basic biological research within the
cardiovascular field. Research areas within the lab focus on the identification of the underlying
molecular mechanisms of systemic hypertension, atherosclerosis, and post-angioplasty
restenosis. We are currently seeking to fill an open position of a postdoctoral fellow to work on
multiple exciting projects in basic cardiovascular research. The Osman lab is located within the
Department of Physiology & Pharmacology at the University of Toledo College of Medicine and
Life Sciences, which offers an intellectually exciting, collegial, and supportive environment for
postdoctoral fellows. Postdoctoral Fellows will have the advantage of working side-by-side with
a variety of scientists and with expertise in microbiota, metabolomics, hypertension, metabolism, immunity, cardiovascular diseases, cancer, gastrointestinal disorders, and lung diseases.

Minimum Qualifications:

Ph.D. degree in biological/medical sciences (e.g., vascular biology, physiology, pharmacology, molecular biology, biology, biochemistry) is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior hands-on experience with cell culture techniques, basic molecular biology techniques, and a working experience with maintaining a small animal colony, breeding, and genotyping is required. Additional experience with myography techniques or animal models of cardiovascular disease is a plus.
Other requirements include the ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, strong verbal and written communication skills in English, exemplary work ethic, strong organizational skills, high motivation, and enthusiasm for science
