Job Summary

Under the direction of the Campus Leader coordinates campus internal and external community relations; works across all of the College’s divisions to coordinate communication and promotional planning for the campus. Manages the campus event calendar and coordinates with the facilities team to schedule both internal and external events for the campus. In partnership with the Campus Leader develop and manage a variety of special campus projects and programs.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates a commitment to the philosophy and mission of a comprehensive community college.
  • Works collaboratively in a diverse, inclusive, and student-centered environment, with students of various learning styles, cultures, identities, and life experiences.
  • Works collaboratively with others and provides quality customer service in a diverse and inclusive environment.

Communication Skills:
  • Coordinates communication and promotional plans for the campus and assists the Campus. Leader in responding to external community groups, organizations, and individuals.
  • Manages communications with students for a variety of on-campus programs.
  • Manages communications with faculty and staff regarding campus information and activities.
  • Collaborates with the marketing team to provide public information; explains College policies and procedures and coordinates public events.
  • Prepares written reports consisting of qualitative and quantitative data, memoranda, draft publications and brochures, and other documents as necessary.

Technical Knowledge:
  • Performs data entry utilizing the electronic Student Information System such as Banner or comparable systems.
  • Assists with monitoring the enrollment, scheduling, and academic progress of students in early college programs.
  • Identifies and maintains records for project participants within the College’s student information system (Banner).
  • Disseminates program information by telephone, in person, and electronically to potential and existing students as needed.

Community Engagement:
  • Coordinates various campus programs and activities designed to support student success.
  • Leads the coordination of a campus cabinet, a small group of faculty and staff charged with maintaining a welcoming and inclusive campus climate, in collaboration with the Campus Leader.
  • Develops and maintains close working relationships with academic departments and divisions within the college.
  • Develops and maintains close working relationships with external community agencies and other student support providers.

Departmental Support:
  • Performs special projects for the Campus Leader as requested.
  • Maintains files and records, including confidential material, required and generated by the program director.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
  • Associate’s Degree.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in providing student support with a demonstrated advocacy and commitment to student success and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by community college and developmental education students.
  • Strong technical aptitude including experience with Microsoft suite and enterprise software systems.
  • Significant professional experience with problem-solving and conflict resolution.
  • Well-developed oral and written communication, planning skills, and adaptability.
  • The ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with faculty, staff, and students is essential.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are required. Excellent organizational skills are required.
Competencies and Desired Qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
