Marketing Specialist - Young Auditorium - 18662

Gr The University of Wisconsin - Whitewater seeks a Marketing Specialist for the Young Auditorium.

JOB DETAILS:

Grou In tandem with the auditorium director, the Marketing Specialist is responsible for all marketing and promotional efforts for the programs presented by Young Auditorium. The Marketing Specialist also assists auditorium users when marketing services are requested/contracted.

This position is a full-time, annual fixed-term academic staff position and reports to the Director of Young Auditorium.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field
  • Two years of experience in related marketing field
  • Excellent writing, communication, and design skills (Adobe Design Suite)
  • Experience in strategic planning, social media marketing and audience development
Preferred Characteristics:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Willingness and ability to be an active participant in the following applicable safety rules and regulations including necessary training drills
  • Ability to interact respectfully with people from diverse socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Group
  • Development and implementation of marketing plans for the programs presented by Young Auditorium and the Cultural Performing Arts Committee, in tandem with YA Director.
  • Build and maintain an internship program to draw college students in the various areas of marketing (social media, print, electronic and video materials, website management, etc.)
  • Alongside the director, connect with and maintain communication with all chambers of commerce within a 50-mile radius to develop relationships with businesses and organizations for potential sponsorships, cross marketing, etc.
  • Assist YA Director in creating an atmosphere where the three main communities (schools, UW students and employees and surrounding communities) in a 50-mile radius see the Young Auditorium as an integral part of their daily lives by continuously sharing what we do, explaining what we are capable of doing, and encouraging them to explore new ways of utilizing the facility in what we hope to do.
  • Produce and/or oversee production of all print, electronic, and video materials for Young Auditorium and the Cultural Performing Arts Committee. Including but not limited to brochures, posters, flyers, television & radio commercials, social media, website maintenance.
  • Supervise email/mailing list development and email/mail activities on behalf of the Young Auditorium.
  • Assist YA Director in negotiating yearly advertising contracts and sponsorship agreements with right-fit media partners to maximize exposure and increase ticket sales for Young Auditorium events.
  • Develop working relationships with broadcast, print, and other media sources throughout the region to maximize earned-media coverage of Young Auditorium events.
  • Keep Young Auditorium current in electronic and social media advertising and sales techniques. Lead efforts toward maximizing the auditorium’s internet presence, online ticket sales, and social media presence.
  • Work with outside marketing agencies/vendors when such services are contracted by the auditorium director.
  • Lead audience marketing research efforts and provide data/research as necessary.
  • Supervise part-time student employees

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Well-qualified candidates can expect a starting annual salary within a range of $47,000 – $60,000.
