This position works under general supervision of the Athletics
Building & Grounds Supervisor. The goal is to achieve organized
and efficient surveillance of the Intercollegiate Athletic
Facilities: to ensure the Facilities are secure, check Mechanical
Spaces and provide superior customer and information services daily
to people visiting Camp Randall and other associated Athletic
Department facilities. Good public relations and communication
skills are imperative due to the extent of interaction with staff,
students, student-athletes, and the general public. Most encounters
are friendly in nature, but a few can be stressful and threatening.
The ability to maintain positive and professional customer
relations in difficult situations is essential. This position is
responsible for establishing and maintaining a high level of
customer service. This position functions closely with other staff
and departments to work as a team, but also requires the ability to
work and make decisions independently.
Staff will serve as role models by practicing exemplary behaviors
when working with Athletic staff members, students, Athletes, the
general public, and other security staff. Must have the ability to
establish and maintain effective working relationships with
supervisors, co-workers, other departments, and the public.
Patrols selected buildings and/or sites to identify, report, and
potentially resolve security issues, responds to emergencies, and
assists in the investigation of incidents to provide dedicated
protection and security to institution properties, students, staff
and visitors. Provides assistance with administrative or
operational unit tasks.
