ResponsibilitiesThe Mercer University School of Medicine invites applications for a non-tenure track, 12-month appointment on the Columbus campus of Mercer University School of Medicine. The successful candidate will serve as a facilitator in an integrated medical curriculum that includes small and large group case-based learning.
MUSM focuses on educating physicians and healthcare professionals to meet the primary care and health care needs of rural and medically underserved areas in Georgia. Faculty members are expected to participate broadly across the curricula and engage in scholarly activities in areas of biomedical science, medical education, or community-oriented research. Additional duties include course administration and contributions to institutional/departmental governance and service.
QualificationsSuccessful candidates will hold a terminal doctoral degree (PhD, MD, or related degree) and have strong evidence of teaching expertise in medical physiology. Candidates with expertise in gastrointestinal, or endocrine and reproductive physiology are highly desirable. Experience in health professions education and with innovative learning strategies including the ability to facilitate large and small interactive sessions is preferred.
Applications for the ranks of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor will be considered. Applicants applying for Associate or Full Professor ranks should have a strong record of medical school teaching in large and small group settings.
