    Department Summary
University Advancement (UA) supports the University of Oregon's (UO) mission of providing exceptional teaching, discovery, and service by strategically positioning the university to create awareness, build long-term relationships, and secure resources that increase understanding and further its aims. The division consists of approximately 200 employees primarily working out of Eugene, with offices in Portland and Bend. Departments within University Advancement include the UO Alumni Association; Development; Advancement Operations; Federal Affairs; and State and Community Affairs. We are committed to fostering equity and inclusion in a welcoming, safe, and respectful environment that recognizes the value of all members of our community.

The Office of Development as part of University Advancement has a mission to maximize philanthropic impact at the University of Oregon. We do this by identifying, connecting, and engaging alumni and friends around the globe with their passions to advance the vision and priorities of the university.

The Foundation Relations and Corporate Relations teams play a unique role in Development, building strategic partnerships with philanthropic foundations and corporate entities. These teams advance strategic priorities set forth by the university President and Provost and collaborate with school/college-based development teams and other units across campus seeking support from private foundations and engaging corporate partners. Both the Foundation Relations and Corporate Relations teams work closely with faculty and colleagues in the Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation to identify opportunities to secure external support for research, education, and outreach activities.
    Position Summary
The Development Project Coordinator (DPC) manages projects, research, and administrative needs for the Foundation Relations and Corporate Relations teams. This position is ideal for someone who is highly organized and has excellent follow-through as well as a customer service mindset. Using in-depth knowledge of both the Foundation Relations and Corporate Relations programs, the DPC must be able to prioritize and complete work with a high degree of independence as well as effectively serve as a representative of both the UO and University Advancement to external and internal constituents.

The DPC is responsible for projects that support fundraising and engagement activity with corporate entities and philanthropic foundations. This position regularly completes research projects (utilizing internal and external tools), builds customized reports and briefings, informs and updates business plans, maintains data, helps organize meetings with internal and external stakeholders, and acts as a liaison with faculty, staff, research administrators, and senior leadership. The DPC is responsible for ensuring these activities meet compliance standards for university policies, UO Foundation confidentiality and data procedures, budget management, and research regulations. This position also leads regular efforts for communicating with external stakeholders, including organizing mailers and multi-level engagement efforts.

This position reports to the Senior Director of Foundation Relations but conducts specialized research and outreach for both the Foundation Relations and Corporate Relations teams. Some basic grant writing, review, and reporting may become a regular part of this role as well as creating and implementing internal communication and education plans for stakeholders and faculty members interested in science and research corporate engagement.

This position is located in Eugene, and works regular office hours from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. In addition, the position is eligible for hybrid work, and flexibility is required to accommodate development events as needed, including occasional work on weekends or outside the regular hours.
    Minimum Requirements

One year of this experience must have included the development and implementation of fund-raising or donor-cultivation events (such as event planning, volunteer experience at a nonprofit organization, or real-world experiential learning opportunities during the course of an educational program); AND
