Lecturer - Department of Spanish and Portuguese Studies

The University of Florida, in Gainesville, Florida is seeking a Lecturer in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese Studies. Duties and responsibilities include teaching and service. Normal teaching assignment will be 3 courses per semester (Fall and Spring), principally, in the areas of Spanish grammar and Spanish composition, with additional assignments in lower and upper-division Spanish courses based on departmental needs. Service duties involve various activities, such as establishing coordination procedures for upper-division courses, especially Grammar and Composition I and II; introducing new textbooks; engaging in curricular development/redesign of courses in alignment with current pedagogical research and practices; and participating in college activities designed to increase the quality of the students’ educational experience.

Position requires a Ph.D. degree in Spanish or a related field and 1 year of experience teaching Spanish at the college level.
