Position Summary:
This is a grant-funded position. Funding has been secured from the Oregon Youth Development Council. This position will implement a new initiative over the course of the grant period, and will organize programming (affinity groups, workshops, and conferences) and develop curriculum focused on leadership development that empower and educate youth who have parents who are incarcerated; the Director may also supervise research and evaluation of program outcomes, depending on qualifications.

JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Develop project work plan in partnership with funders
  • Manage program finances and funder relationships, including submission of quarterly grant activity reports
  • Develop relationships with partner organizations for youth referrals, additional youth resources and support, and collaboration on events and workshops
  • Develop relationships with relevant agencies and organizations to advocate for youth participation in meetings and forums
  • Supervise youth leaders in participatory action program evaluation, including developing, implementing, and assessing pre- and post-participation outcome questionnaires and other evaluation instruments
  • Recruit youth participants
  • Host ongoing, regional affinity group meetings
  • Coordinate workshops, events, and conferences
  • Support youth leadership council
  • Other duties as assigned


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Knowledge of relevant literature on youth empowerment programming
  • Ability to design curriculum based on research about program effectiveness for underserved youth
  • Knowledge of the carceral system and effects on families
  • Experience working with underserved youth



Preferred Qualifications

Graduate level education in relevant field and/or commensurate experience administering programs for underserved populations.



Typical Work Schedule

Work schedule is flexible and will need to accommodate availability of youth involved in programming.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

Typical work is performed indoors in a normal office environment.

Salary: $27 - $30 per hour
