The School of Health Sciences at Lasell University seeks an adjunct professor to teach (1) section of General Physics I Lecture and (1) section of General Physics I Lab in the Fall 2022 semester.

The courses will meet in person:

PHYS 111 General Physics I TR 8:00-9:15

PHYS 111LC General Physics I Lab F 8:00-9:40

Course Title: General Physics I

Description:

This is the first semester of a one-year course that surveys the field of physics at a non-calcu­lus level. Topics include motion in one and two dimensions, force, uniform circular motion, work and energy, and statics of rigid bodies. The laws of thermodynamics are introduced. Laboratory experiments are conducted to complement the material covered in lecture.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide instruction for all sessions of assigned courses utilizing the college philosophy of connected learning
• Align course assignments with departmental learning outcomes and university core curriculum learning outcomes; provide student work samples for assessment purposes
• Incorporate Canvas (learning management system) into the course
• Maintain office hours each week
• Keep accurate records of student progress and complete mid-semester and final grade reports

Minimum Qualifications:

• Candidates should have M.S, M.Ed., or equivalent (PhD preferred) in related field
  
  
• Prior undergraduate-level teaching experience
  
  
• Strong communication skills, ability to provide mentorship and guidance remotely by email, phone and or video call, and willingness to offer extensive feedback on student work Required
