Position Summary and Responsibilities
The Exploring Transfer Together Project Manager will report to the Associate Dean of the College for Student Growth & Engagement (SGE), the Principal Investigator (PI) on a two-year grant-funded initiative. The Project Manager will contribute to developing more robust community college partnerships through the College's 35-year-old Exploring Transfer program, which provides community college students with opportunities to experience being a student at a residential liberal arts college. Through a variety of activities, including overseeing the day-to-day aspects of the grant project, conducting in-person and virtual site visits at partner community colleges, compiling and analyzing data, and supporting the development of programming based on the insights gained, the Project Manager will work closely with the Associate Dean and other stakeholders to develop recommendations to promote community college student transfer and success in four-year degree programs. Through these efforts, the Project Manager will also participate in disseminating research to other institutions, including involvement in coordinating convenings of other liberal art institutions. This role will directly connect with the other efforts of the Office of Student Growth & Engagement (SGE) to promote a campus environment that helps all students thrive. As such, the Project Manager will be an integral member of the SGE team's ongoing efforts around developing and implementing student success efforts for marginalized students during the academic year. Various initiatives will be piloted to improve the Exploring Transfer program during summer 2023 and modified, as needed, to facilitate entry and engagement of students. Position Responsibilities:
  1. Manage grant activities toward stated outcomes by assisting the Associate Dean of the College for Student Growth & Engagement (SGE) to coordinate efforts
  2. Schedule, participate in and collect data from site-visits to community college partners. Travel required
  3. Collect national/regional data on peer liberal arts colleges to assess existing programs to promote community college transfer
  4. Coordinate convenings of institutions with the goal of sharing practices and disseminating strategies
  5. Participate in SGE programming and student support services
  6. Work with Exploring Transfer team to pilot student success initiatives
  7. Engage in other duties as assigned related to the description of this role in supporting projects and initiatives of the Exploring Transfer Together grant and those of the Office of Student Growth and Engagement.


Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s degree required; Masters preferred; 5-7 years of experience or equivalent in student affairs, higher education or related field, and, specifically, community college work
  2. Demonstrate diversity, equity and inclusion competencies, and a commitment to working with diverse populations to promote thriving
  3. Evidence of strong leadership, interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
  4. The ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
  5. Strong interest in or experience with community colleges and/or residential, liberal arts colleges
  6. Research experience - Conducting interviews, site-visits, tracking grant outcomes - is a plus
