Candidates are expected to demonstrate a commitment to teaching
excellence and student success at the university level. The
successful candidate must have the ability to work effectively with
students, faculty, and staff from diverse ethnic, cultural, and
socioeconomic backgrounds. Lecturers are required to maintain
additional hours outside the classroom to provide assistance to
students. Specific assignments are dependent upon department needs.
Candidates may be called upon to teach in a distance education
Minimum qualifications include a master's degree or equivalent in
the fields of clinical psychology, social psychology, experimental
psychology, biological psychology, cognitive psychology,
developmental psychology, or a related field, in accordance with
University guidelines. We welcome applicants who can teach in any
of the above areas, in addition to courses on statistics, testing
and measurement, research methods, and capstone.
A terminal degree and evidence of effective teaching across a
variety of courses with a variety of methodologies (e.g., active
learning techniques, team based learning, outcome based learning)
