Vice Chancellor for Human Resources & Institutional Equity

 

The University of North Carolina Asheville (UNC Asheville) invites applications and nominations for the position of Vice Chancellor for Human Resources & Institutional Equity. The University seeks a visionary, strategic, and experienced leader who is committed to the distinctive role of a public liberal arts and sciences university to lead this division.

Reporting directly to the Chancellor and serving as a member of the senior leadership team, the Vice Chancellor will be the institutional leader for the areas of Human Resources, Equal Opportunity and Compliance, and Diversity, Inclusion and Equity. This visible campus leadership role will be responsible for the strategic direction and effectiveness of the University’s workforce programs and services for faculty, staff, and students, and provide leadership for diversity, inclusion, and equity programs university-wide. This critical role is responsible for providing strategic, transformational leadership and administration in the development and implementation of all matters relating to human resources, human capital management, institutional equity, and diversity. The new Vice Chancellor will be customer service-oriented, be committed to employee commitment and engagement, and will bring best practices and forward-thinking people orientation as UNC Asheville embark in this new post pandemic paradigm.

The University seeks candidates and nominees who bring expertise and leadership to engage employees and to foster a welcoming and equitable campus climate. The Vice Chancellor is expected to create talent acquisition strategies to build strong pipelines for current and future hiring needs, enhance the organization’s multicultural understanding and practice, and provide a variety of programs and services that support, develop, leverage and recognize employee strengths. The Vice Chancellor will serve as a strategic partner to the Chancellor and provide counsel and support to the leaders of the senior team, Faculty Senate, and, with the Chancellor, to the University’s Board of Trustees.
