Position Summary

The Executive Fellows Program Coordinator position encompasses a range of responsibilities
which serve to coordinate, implement, and assist in the performance of critical administrative functions of the Center for California Studies. The incumbent will provide support to the Executive Fellows program and the Center in service to developing and executing a Center-wide communication plan as directed by Center leadership, as well as a variety of other work assignments in support of outreach for the Capital Fellows programs and other Center's programs.

FLSA: Non-Exempt

CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,440 - $5,639 per month

Hiring Range: $3,440 - $5,639 per month

Recruitment Type: Temporary and renewable. Reappointment is contingent on funding, work performance, and recommendation of supervisor. May become probationary or permanent under the terms of the MOU.

Time Base: Full-Time

Pay Plan: 12 months

Work Hours: M-F 8-5

Department Information

The Center for California Studies is based at Sacramento State - the “Capital Campus” of the California State University.

Being located in California's capital strategically positions the Center to be the link between the University and the three branches of California's government, think tanks, other universities, and outside partnerships involved with public service in California. This, paired with our extensive research, academic programming, and position as part of the country's largest public university system makes us uniquely equipped to fulfill our mission to bridge academia and government in the service of strengthening California's democracy.

Minimum Qualifications

Entry to this classification requires a fully functional knowledge of and skill in standard office procedures and practices, as well as an ability to understand and operate in a variety of organizational structures. Additionally, incumbents are expected to have a thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation and be able to clearly communicate orally and in writing. Some positions may require a knowledge of business mathematics beyond basic arithmetic. The ability to use and quickly learn new office support technology systems and software packages is also a prerequisite.

These entry qualifications would normally be obtained through a high school program, technical/vocational program,
or their equivalents combined with several years of relate office work experience.

Required Qualifications

General Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
1. Thorough knowledge of English grammar, punctuation and spelling.
2. Thorough knowledge of office systems and ability to use a broader range of technology, systems and
packages, such as Microsoft Office systems (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Publisher).
3. Ability to independently handle multiple work unit priorities and projects.
4. Ability to apply independently a wide variety of policies and procedures where specific guidelines may not
exist.
5. Working knowledge of budget policies and procedures.
6. Ability to perform business math, such as calculate ratios and percentages, track financial data, and make
simple projections.
7. Ability to draft and compose correspondence and standard reports.
8. Ability to effectively handle a broad range of interpersonal contacts, including those at a higher level and
those sensitive in nature.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
10. Ability to troubleshoot/ solve problems without supervision.
11. Ability to exercise appropriate judgement as needed to work and solve problems independently, especially as
it pertains to social media posts and outreach.
