Position Summary:
Monmouth University is seeking applications for a On-Call Event Assistant.

The candidate would be expected to provide support for concert, theatre, dance and other arts events which can include: monitoring load in and load out of show equipment; setting up and monitoring backstage hospitality, backstage areas/dressing rooms; assisting with artists needs and requests; providing wardrobe assistance for artists; monitoring all theatre, back stage, and lobby activity from load-in to load-out of shows; limiting access to VIP Room and stage areas to authorized persons; and enforcing all house policies during events - no food/drink in theatre, camera policies, etc.; help ushering, ticket taking, merchandising, and working with volunteers; interact with technical crews, road crews, and venue administration to ensure smooth running operations; facilitate our virtual programs (Tuesday Night Record Club, Tuesday Night Book Club, World Cinema Series Q&A's and other on-line events).

Required Degree, License or Certifications:
Valid Automobile Driver's License in your state of principal residence

Required Skills or Software:
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, Must be able to treat confidential and sensitive information appropriately, Basic Knowledge of MS Word 2016, Basic Knowledge of MS Excel 2016, Must be able to utilize a variety of computer software programs in order to successfully complete assigned tasks, Must be able to operate a variety of office equipment

Required Years of Experience: 3

Other Requirements:
Familiarity with coordination of arts programming.

Preferred Qualifications:
Understanding of venue operations. Experience working with technical crews, tour and road managers, technical directors, stage managers, artists, and venue administration, and an understanding of how all these positions interact/relate.

Knowledge of and access to industry resources for trouble shooting unexpected needs. Front of house management. Supervisory skills/venue staff. Understanding of merchandising. Familiarity with box office operations/will call, comps, and patron relations. Ability to launch and monitor virtual events.
