The School of Business at Arkansas Tech University, accredited by AACSB, has two faculty openings for full-time tenure track positions in accounting with a starting date of August 2023. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge – understand teaching pedagogy as it applies to introductory, upper-level and graduate accounting courses.
Skills – organization, leadership, and communication.
Abilities – responsive, collegial, on-line teaching skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the School of Business.
Engage students in high-impact learning practices.
Develop a sustainable scholarship program.
Provide impactful service to the School of Business, ATU, Russellville, and the state of Arkansas.
Has one of the following from a regionally accredited university: 1) Ph.D. or DBA in Accounting or 2) Ph.D. or DBA in Finance with at least 18 graduate hours in Accounting and either a CPA or CMA credential. ABD students that will graduate by no later than August 15, 2023, are also welcome to apply.
Ability to develop a sustainable research program that provides meaningful knowledge which can be used to enhance our undergraduate and graduate programs.
Terminal degree from an AACSB-accredited institution and program.
Evidence of teaching excellence at the university level and commitment to continuous improvement in teaching, mentoring, and working with undergraduate and graduate students.
Experience with online instruction.
Record of scholarly activity and strong research interests in accounting and/or recent professional experience in accounting or taxation.
Evidence of engagement with undergraduate or graduate students in student organizations, projects, research, or other experiential learning activities.
Other Desirable Characteristics:
Experience with AACSB standards and accreditation processes.
Commitment to creating and fostering industry relationships.
