Work Schedule, Hours per week: M-F 8am-5pm, 40 hours per week

Pay Grade/Pay Range: 58.58, $67,137-83,922 *Actual pay depends on qualifications

Position Summary: This position is primarily responsible for proactively generating demand by building a pipeline of qualified contract training prospects, negotiating contracts, closing contracts, managing forecasts to achieve a specified individual sales target, and identifying strategic partners. This position makes critical decisions related to relationship management for JCCC, corporate training solutions, service engagements, and other ancillary revenue. In addition to the focus on contract training, the Program Director of Business Solutions identifies external partnership opportunities for JCCC and connects stakeholders to appropriate contacts within JCCC.

Position Details: Job duties include but are not limited to:

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND SALES Develop and implement annual sales plan to achieve LERN benchmarks including gross revenue and net profit targets set by the CE branch. Responsible for sales, strategic account planning, and achieving sales goals by identifying, qualifying, cultivating, and closing contract training commitments with local and regional employers. Create demand for CE programs and training solutions by developing a strong network of clients and stakeholders. Maintain regular contact with existing customers while targeting and prospecting for new customers. Develop, manage, and advance a pipeline of corporate prospects that have the capacity and need for contract training. Serve as a consultant and advisor for JCCC's customers and gather the appropriate resources to ensure the college has met the customers' needs.

Performance is acceptable when:

a. Strategic sales plan is developed annually in collaboration with other Program Directors and Director of Business Solutions.

b. The program director effectively manages account relationships from initiation through closure, using CRM and other account management tools.

c. The program director cultivates past and current client and professional relationships to generate future business.

d. Marketing strategies are developed and implemented to enhance JCCC CE in the marketplace and expand our reputation as a leader in corporate training and business solutions.

e. The program director attends and participates in community and corporate events.

f. All decisions regarding potential contracts and ongoing professional relationships support organizational alignments, LERN metrics, and goals.

g. Industry insights and market research are utilized and continuously shared to inform goal setting, prospecting, course/training development, and revenue planning.

h. Risks associated with contracts are identified and mitigated.

i. Corporate training and solution contracts are successfully signed and handed-off to CE Operations for development and program delivery.

j. The program director prepares an end-of-year report summarizing customer trends, satisfaction with JCCC education, barriers to growth and recommendations on changes that would impact results.

INDUSTRY KNOWLEDGE Maintain strong professional knowledge of legislative issues, workforce data, industry trends and marketplace issues; through research, association meetings, customer meetings, and other activities. Analyze customer trends to determine future training needs. Maintain knowledge of all continuing education programs and course offerings as well as the overall capabilities of JCCC to match customer needs with existing JCCC training solutions.

Performance is acceptable when the program director:

  • Maintains knowledge of legislative, industry and marketplace issues and trends affecting customers in order to support their business.

  • Develops and maintains a working knowledge of each program and of JCCC's overall capabilities college wide to address customers' needs.

  • Identifies customer trends to determine future training needs.

  • Collaborates with colleagues in CE (and the Academic Branch when appropriate) by providing feedback on customer trends/opportunities for new programs and working with colleagues to develop products that meet customer needs.

    TEAMWORK AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT Collaborate with all CE team members to meet needs of clients, demonstrating best practices in business development execution.

    Performance is acceptable when:

    a. Employee works closely with Programming and Operations team members responsible for training delivery to ensure contract commitments with external stakeholders are fulfilled as agreed.

    b. Fluency is demonstrated in using CRM and project management tools.

    c. Employee develops and maintains a positive and collaborative working relationship with all members of the CE team.

    MEETS ESTABLISHED METRICS AND GOALS Monitor numbers/metrics monthly; strategize and analyze plans to fulfill designated goals.

    Performance is acceptable when:

    a. Analyzes relevant metrics and supporting data at least monthly.

    b. Proposes solutions to fill needs/opportunities identified through analysis of metrics and data.

    c. Discusses metrics monthly with supervisor.

    d. Monitors progress of metrics/goals; establish strategies as needed.

    e. All individual and branch-wide metrics set for a given year are met.
