Job Summary
Campus Dining Services (CDS) at the University of Colorado Boulder encourages applications for a Shift Supervisor ! This is a hands-on working position that provides oversight and leadership in assigned dining operation to all FOH attendant positions, that acts as Lead Service Manager in their absence. This position would, under the general supervision of the Lead Service Manager and Executive Sous Chefs, assigns and coordinate the activities of food service workers involved in set-up, food and drink service. Maintains, ensures and is accountable for the cleanliness and proper functionality of the following areas and associated staff: food service preparation, beverage, dish-washing, dish return, courtesy stands, dining room and common areas. Provides input in the development of protocol for service standards. Assigns and delegates staff members to required areas based on flow of service and need of operation. Ensures service quality, A9, food safety, and sustainability standards are all upheld and fully corrects non-compliance immediately. Determines break schedules for all of the aforementioned areas based upon organizational needs and staff schedules, all while offering excellent customer service in a team driven and supported environment.

We are comprised of Residential Dining Halls, Catering and Retail outlets which operate year-round. Campus Dining leads the industry with outstanding quality food and exceptional dining experiences. What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Quality Assurance
- Navigates customer complaints and is empowered to make decisions in the best interest of the operation and its guests.
- Ensures all ParTech and A9 labeling procedures are followed during scheduled shift and takes corrective action when out of compliance, including creation of accurate labels, troubleshooting equipment and staff education.
- Conducts audits of efficiency and effectiveness and offers solutions to the Management Team.
- Assists in creation of standardized operating procedures, and training methods.
- Ensures all areas are setup and broken down in accordance with SOP's
- Complies and enforces sanitation regulations and safety.
- Serves on the food safety response team and responds to all food safety emergencies as appropriate to the work assignment. If a work cell phone is provided, a response call must be within an hour of the original call and/or message.
- Assists in the culinary staff recruitment, training and on-boarding process.
- Empowers others to make decision in areas within their span of control, and participates in measures to increase empowerment response rate and overall score.
- Ensures employees follow assigned schedule, appropriate break times and follow proper procedures of requesting time off.
- Holds others accountable, following progressive discipline process. Discusses staff issues with Management Team.
- Displays and demonstrates excellent communication skills. Coaches others to develop their communication skills.
- Signature authority of performance plans of all Dining Attendants.
- Enforces and is accountable for following all dining room SOP's in assigned area.
- Understands and uses all production equipment in assigned facility.
- Places work orders as needed. Assists with ordering and receiving of product as needed.
- Successfully passes ServSafe and offers tutoring assistance to staff.
- All University of Colorado Boulder employees are required to follow the campus COVID-19 vaccine requirement .
- New employees must provide proof of vaccination or receive a medical or religious exemption within 30 days of employment.
- This position will be 100% on campus, located at the Center for Community.
- The shift for this position is: Wednesday-Saturday, 11:00am
-9:30pm shift.
The salary for this position is $42,962.40 annually.

What We Require
- Four years of food service experience. Relevant education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.
- Servsafe certified and or certificate appropriate for the position level or the ability to obtain Servsafe certification or certificate appropriate to position level within 6 months of hire. Must possess appropriate Servsafe certification or certificate appropriate to position level for the duration of employment with CDS.
- Ability to work in a team driven environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- High volume university or institutional food service experience.
