Job Description Summary
Under immediate supervision of the Program Director for the Wellness Center, performs general clerical/office duties to assist the Nurse(s), Counselor, and Program Coordinator for the Violence Prevention Center. Interacts with the students, college community and general public providing information and assistance as it relates to the Wellness Center’s services and activities. While the work may be performed independently and not in the presence of supervision, it is performed in a situation of close control in that duties that are deviated from established procedures require the approval of a supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma and one to two years of previous general office/clerical experience. A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle, or feel objects and controls. Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to a, personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine. No significant climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions.

- Skills in effective communications, inter personal skills as applied to interaction with co-workers, supervisor, the general public, etc. Sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.

- Greet visitors to the Wellness Center and direct sign-in procedures.
- Answer, screen and give routine information by telephone courteously, efficiently and tactfully.
- Be knowledgeable about and demonstrate strong customer service skills including those delineated in the student affairs Customer Services Skills standards.
- Prepare routine correspondence, forms and reports accurately and efficiently.
- Establish and maintain general office files and confidential student files.
- Maintain the projects systems of security for equipment, supplies and confidential materials.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of Wellness Center supplies, materials and equipment.
- Order supplies and equipment as needed.
- Be proficient in use of computer technology to support departmental activity, e.g. Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and Colleague.
- Assist with Peak Registration and other divisional initiatives.
- Keep informed of available services and scheduled events.
- Provide courteous customer service and general project information to the college community and off-campus individuals/agencies.
- Participate in staff development training.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
