Job Description:

Trauma registrar abstracts patient information from the electronic medical record and enters all the necessary information required into the trauma registry. Access and create a daily list of patients that meet the registry criteria. Use of ICD 10 codes for diagnosis and AIS coding for trauma registrar. Assists with compiling statistical information. Assists with data and quality control of the registry patients. Analyze and audit data to maintain trauma registry.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate degree in Allied Health field required. Emphasis on Anatomy and Physiology, preferred
• Current ICD-10-CM coding experience required. Preferred 2-year experience in coding
• Computer experience with knowledge of Excel and Word required
• Must be able to type 20 WPM
• Maintain yearly ongoing trauma related education

Preferred Qualifications:

• Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification, preferred
• Certified Coding Specialist Certification (CCS), preferred
• Previous use in Trauma Base registry preferred
• AIS coding preferred
