Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Medicine is a premier academic medical center located in the heart of Richmond. Position Responsibilities:

The Division of Nephrology seeks a motivated Research Assistant to join the clinical research teams in Transplant Nephrology and Chronic Kidney Diseases. The job duties for this Research Assistant include and are not limited to the following.

• Assisting the principal investigator with support of evaluating Cure Glomerulonephropathy (CureGN) protocol: CureGN is a multi-center consortium that will work collaboratively to address challenges to understanding the underlying biology of glomerular disease and to translate that understanding into effective therapies for patients.
• Data collection and input into study systems and sponsor database

Required Qualifications:

Proficient in Excel and ability to learn and utilize required electronic systems

Ability to use time effectively, multi-task, work independently and be detail-oriented

Exhibit professionalism, and sound interpersonal and communications (verbal and written) skills

Ability to use time effectively, multi-task, work independently and be detail-oriented

Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as an employed member at VCU

Completion of high school or equivalent GED

Preferred Qualifications:

Some college and research experience preferred

Physical and Cognitive Requirements:


Light to medium lifting (up to 40 lb), fast pace, multiple stimulation, intense customer interaction, frequent change, memory, reasoning, hearing, reading, analyzing, logic, and verbal and written communication

Additional Information:

Hours / weeks - up to 29 hours per week

Days /hours - Monday - Friday / up to 29 hours per week

Position will remain open until candidate is identified for hire.

This is a restricted position with no set end date and continued employment is dependent upon project need, availability of funding, and performance.
