Purpose of Position
Responsible for overseeing and managing the Haile College of Business (Haile COB ) career and community engagement through experiential learning, student professional development, and employer outreach.

Duties include helping students discover their early career path and develop professionalism to successfully begin their journey through that career, managing relationships with regional employers enhancing opportunities for employers to engage with the college, and facilitating the experiential learning goal of 75% student participation within three years, working with departments across campus to augment existing opportunities and to incorporate up-to-date, career related and experiential learning practices into curriculum, promote internships and co-ops for Haile COB students. Primary Responsibilities
Teach Business Professionalism/Career Preparation, 1 section each semester.
BUS 301 is a skills-based course that focuses on improving students’ professionalism. High-impact teaching practices ensure students master the skills needed to land their first career job and successfully transition between jobs later in their careers. Career Management skills, cover letter, resume, LinkedIn, networking, and interviewing, are taught in a workshop format. In Zoom, recorded and in-person mock interviews with NKU alumni from area employers, students build interviewing competency using the context-action-result method. Each student receives personalized and direct feedback from alumni to improve his/her capabilities. This position is the lead instructor for this important course and trains and develops faculty who teach other sections (including BUS 201).

Work with academic departments and allied units across campus such as Career Services to develop a robust set of student programs to augment existing Professionalism, Experiential Learning, and Career opportunities in the college. Continue building the Haile COB brand with regional employers by managing a program of regular visits to campus to interact with students, supplementing Career Fairs, and working with Career Services to set and fill on-campus interview schedules after the fairs. Provide career guidance to Haile COB students individually and collectively, through these student programs.

Develop relationships with key employers and alumni to maximize employment relationships between the Haile College of Business and regional businesses. Maximize communication between the region and the college so that we are responsive to employer needs and we enhance internship, experiential learning, and career opportunities for our students. Based upon these relationships select key employers and develop sponsorship programs and track contacts, progress, and outcomes.

Promote internships and co-ops among Haile COB students, faculty, and area employers to ensure more opportunities and more students capitalizing on them. Maximize the use of Handshake to improve student and employer connections and record keeping for accreditation purposes and to ensure that the Haile COB becomes increasingly oriented to experiential learning and related outcomes.

Qualifications
A Master’s degree in Business, Higher ed, Public Administration, or a related field of study is preferred with a minimum of three years of experience.

Professional work experience in the greater Cincinnati Region enhances the applicant’s potential. Experience in higher ed and/ or career development preferred.

Must be proficient in MS Office suite of applications, SAP and have the ability to learn elements of Academic Advising, Handshake, and other new and evolving technologies, HR, Career Development, Marketing, Client Centric, and an established Employer Network.

Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to develop strategies, work independently, and develop and complete projects. A dependable vehicle with a valid driver’s license is required. Minimum Education Master's Degree Preferred Education Master's Degree
