Position Summary
This is a nine-month academic-year tenure track position with a 70% Research and 30% Teaching appointment in non-ruminant nutrition in the Department of Animal and Dairy Science ( ADS ) (ads.caes.uga.edu) in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences at the University of Georgia ( UGA ) with the ability to generate an additional 3 months of summer salary from extramural grant funds. The specific research program will be determined based on the successful candidate’s area(s) of expertise, but emphasis will be placed on the ability to develop an externally funded, research program. This faculty member will be expected to teach both undergraduate and graduate non-ruminant nutrition courses within the department.
The successful candidate is expected to develop an innovative and extramurally funded non-ruminant nutrition research program capable of addressing the research and educational needs of the department. The successful candidate will support the instruction efforts of the Department through the teaching of undergraduate and graduate-level courses commensurate with a 30% instructional appointment. The new hire is expected to extensively collaborate with colleagues within the Department, College, and University. The successful candidate is expected to develop and provide leadership for a relevant nationally/ internationally recognized non-ruminant research and teaching program, with an emphasis on nutrition related to the interactions of the gut microbiome and neonatal development with the ability to interact with our Regenerative Bioscience Center faculty as well as our meat science faculty.
The expected start date is January 1, 2023. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
