Supervision: Supervise Assistant Residential Learning Coordinators (Grad Students) and student desk staff members
Teaching and Learning: Develop and implement intentional learning experiences through the implementation of the Residential Curriculum in all university owned apartments. Teach a for-credit, pre-hire student leadership class
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Develop inclusive residential learning communities. Promote equity through the (1) identification and removal of barriers; (2) facilitation of learning; (3) cultivation of community; and (4) empowerment of people.
Leadership: Provide departmental leadership through involvement in department and division-wide committees. Serve as an advisor to residence life student organizations. Take lead on departmental initiatives.

Position Function
Facilitate student learning and development; coordinate residential curriculum model in apartment communities; manage administrative functions in two apartment communities. (There is typically a four-year limit of service as a Residential Learning Coordinator at Ball State.)
Minimum Education
Master’s degree from an accredited institution by September 1 of appointment year.
Minimum Experience
Experience in student affairs, housing, residence life or related field.
Minimum Other
Authorization to work in the US
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Education
Master’s degree from an accredited institution in discipline represented within student affairs administration or closely related field.
Preferred Experience
Residence hall or apartment administration experience preferably in higher education.
Preferred Other
Pre-Employment Screening
Requires successful completion of a background check and education verification.
