The Coordinator approves, oversees, arranges and/or provides accommodation support services for students who qualify for services. Masters Degree and (2) years of related experience Preferred Education/Training/Experience
Direct experience working with Students with Disabilities in Higher Education

Minimum Knowledge & Skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of ADA regulations, guidelines and standards as applicable in an academic setting
  • Strong listening, interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to maintain accurate and thorough records
  • Ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports as needed
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Knowledge & Skills
  • Experience working with Maxient
  • Knowledge of disability documentation and legal requirements for provision of disability services
Licensing/Certification Requirements
None Job Duties
  • Performs intake interviews to gain a foundational understanding of individual needs and evaluates information from the documentation received.
  • Meet with students to determine appropriate and reasonable accommodations
  • Ensures that the institution meets their obligation to provide access to students with disabilities
  • Develops and revises policies and procedures to guide provision of academic accommodations and services
  • Connects student to and/or provides direct resources and services
  • Educates students, faculty and staff on appropriate services for individuals with disabilities
  • Provides training to faculty and staff on ADA and Section 504 Compliance
  • Creates educational materials regarding services
  • Maintains documentation and records of interactions with students, compiles reports and analyzes data related to accommodations, compliance and program efficacy
  • Maintains current knowledge with respect to technology, equipment, applicable laws, regulations and standards.
  • Arranges for all accommodations, readers, interpreters, CART services, etc.
  • Participates in relevant professional development activities to stay informed of state and federal regulations regarding students with disabilities, and trains staff accordingly
  • Collaborates and assists with the campus Community Resource Center, connecting students to the resources available
  • Work with the community partners who participate in the campus Community Resource Center
Physical Requirements
